Buy / Get Unravel Two

A buying guide for platforms, editions, and modes — plus official storefront links when you are ready.

Buying guide before you click Buy

Unravel Two is a physics puzzle-platformer from Coldwood Interactive, published by Electronic Arts. You play as two Yarnys joined by a single thread through seven story chapters and about twenty optional lighthouse bonus rooms. It supports single-player (you control both Yarnys) and local same-screen co-op — no online multiplayer. If that matches how you play, any current platform edition works; differences are mostly store ecosystem, controller comfort, and catalog subscriptions.

This page prioritizes a clear purchase decision over store badges. Official links sit in a compact section below. This fan site does not sell Unravel Two, does not host builds, and earns nothing from storefront visits. Buy from a store you trust, and confirm regional pricing, language support, and EA Play or Xbox Game Pass inclusion on that storefront before you pay.

What you are actually buying

Core package

A standard Unravel Two purchase unlocks the full campaign: Foreign Shore through At the Rapids, plus the lighthouse hub where bonus levels appear after you clear the mid-game chapters that open them. Mechanics include the lasso for swinging and grabbing, the yarn tether between partners, the guiding spark, and shadow hazards that punish careless paths. Story tone and chapter layout are covered in our story overview and chapter index; movement systems live on the gameplay wiki.

Modes that matter at checkout

Single-player is fully supported: one person switches between both Yarnys and uses one as a living anchor while the other advances. Local co-op puts two players on one screen, one Yarny each. Plan seating and controllers before you buy for a couch session. Online co-op is not available, so remote friends need another shared-screen setup or a different game. New players do not need to finish the first Unravel first; Unravel Two stands alone, though the Yarny Bundle (when offered) is a tidy way to own both.

Optional extras and catalog access

Some storefronts periodically list the Unravel Yarny Bundle (Unravel plus Unravel Two). Bundle availability and pricing change by region and sale calendar. EA Play and Xbox Game Pass inclusion also varies by region and over time. Treat any “it is on Game Pass / EA Play” claim as temporary: open the current storefront listing for your account country and confirm access there. If you already subscribe and see Unravel Two in your catalog, that may be enough; if not, buy the platform edition you will actually launch most often.

Platform comparison

PC (Steam and EA App)

PC offers keyboard-and-mouse or gamepad, easy screenshots, and frequent sales on Steam and the EA App. Steam suits a unified library; the EA App suits players already in EA’s launcher or EA Play. Neither adds online co-op. Check minimum specs on your chosen store page — Unravel Two is light, but laptop GPUs and display scaling still affect comfort.

PlayStation and Xbox

Console editions fit living-room co-op: two controllers, one TV. PlayStation listings cover the PS4 release with PS5 backward-compatible play where your region supports it. Xbox targets Xbox One and Series via the Microsoft Store. If you use Game Pass, confirm whether Unravel Two is currently included for your tier and country before buying a permanent license. Trophies and achievements are optional; timed goals usually live in lighthouse challenges.

Nintendo Switch

Switch is the portable pick: handheld solo practice, docked TV co-op. Joy-Con or Pro Controller both work for two players. Compare eShop pricing against PC sales — either can win depending on the week. Prioritize comfort and portability over maximum frame rate.

Who should buy which version

Solo puzzle fans

Any platform works. Prefer the store where your save library already lives so you are more likely to return for bonus rooms. Solo mode asks you to think like two characters; our basics guide covers early habits that prevent frustration.

Couples, siblings, and couch co-op

Choose the living-room screen you both sit in front of most nights — usually PlayStation, Xbox, or docked Switch. Buy only if you can sit together; online play is not an option. Skim the local co-op field guide for roles and callouts before chapter three’s denser puzzles.

Completionists and timed runners

Plan for seven chapters plus roughly twenty lighthouse rooms. Challenges unlock through the lighthouse as you progress mid-campaign chapters. Platform choice matters less than practice time; read the bonus levels guide once the hub opens. If you care about trophies or achievements, stick to one platform’s save so progress does not split.

Collectors of both Unravel games

Watch for the Yarny Bundle on Steam, EA, or console stores when it appears. If the bundle is missing in your region, buying each title separately is normal. Cross-check our wiki hub if you want story and systems context before spending.

FAQ for buyers

Do I need Unravel 1?

No. Unravel Two is a complete standalone adventure with its own chapters and co-op focus. Playing the first game is optional flavor, not a requirement. If both are on sale as a Yarny Bundle, that is convenience, not homework.

Is there online co-op?

No. Co-op is local and same-screen only. Remote play tools are outside the game’s design; this site only documents the intended local mode. If online play is a hard requirement, Unravel Two will not meet it.

How long is the campaign?

Most players finish the seven story chapters in a handful of evenings, then spend extra time on lighthouse bonuses. Exact hours depend on co-op vs solo and how often you explore. Challenges and timed goals extend replay for players who want more than a single story clear.

Where should I look for sales?

Steam, EA, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo each run their own discounts. EA Play and Game Pass availability changes; always check the current storefront for your region rather than relying on an old screenshot or forum post.

Is this site a store?

No. We are an independent fan resource. We do not process payments, redeem keys, or ship discs. For privacy and contact pages, see privacy, contact, and about.

Player tips after you purchase

First session setup

Finish Foreign Shore before judging difficulty. It teaches lasso timing, tether limits, and switching between Yarnys. Keep the TV or monitor bright enough to read spark paths and shadow edges. In co-op, agree who leads swings and who holds anchors before denser rooms.

Progression habits

Clear chapters 2–6 with the lighthouse in mind: each of those clears opens a batch of bonus rooms (about twenty total across the hub). You can finish the story first and return, or dabble in challenges between chapters. Use our full guides hub when a mechanic or co-op habit needs practice.

When to revisit the store page

Reopen your storefront if you want cosmetic or bundle news, regional language packs, or to confirm cloud saves — those details change with platform policy. For gameplay help, stay on this fan site’s wiki and guides instead of chasing unverified key sellers.
